American Resources introduced itself to Capitol Hill staff this week, briefing Senate staff on Tuesday followed by a House briefing Wednesday. I was joined by Laura Skaer of the Northwest Mining Association (NWMA), Betty Gibbs of the Mining & Metallurgical Society of America (MMSA), and Izzy LaBranch of NWMA’s “The More You Dig” initiative.
During the briefing, we discussed the perils of resource dependency, the pitfalls of the United States’ worst-in-class mine permitting process, and otherwise encouraged Hill staffers to take the message to their Members that resource development is key to America’s national security, its technological development and economic competitiveness.
My message to Hill staffers is the same I’ll share with readers of this blog: ARPN exists to be your “resource resource” on all matters related to rolling back resource dependency through resource development right here in the United States.
